Hobby Boss Archer FH77BW

Hi all,

I recently got the Hobby Boss Archer and started building. Apart from some small fit issues around the spade and barrel, the assembly is pretty straight forward and it is building up to an impressively large model. Much bigger than I expected :innocent:

As I would like to detail some areas like the cab interior and the “neck” with e.g. some hydraulic hoses etc. I am looking for detailed pictures so I was hoping someone here on the forum can help ?

Secondly the green color in the instructions is stated as “Olive drab” but if I look at some pictures and video’s on YouTube the green seems to be a different green. Any help on the correct color and or FS number would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Marc

In Sweden it has number FMV 326H or 326M (H=semigloss, M=matt). It’s the darkgreen in the Viggen splinter cammo. A tricky coulor to match, no FS number but Hataka HTK-A324 is close or Mr Paint MRP-117 but needs a drop of a lighter coulor.

I have the FMV colour “chips” here. With my untrained eye, I would use Tamiya XF-67 NATO Green. I sprayed it with success on my CV9040C. Youtube has some good videos on the gun, some might even show cab interior.

Not much on my HD. Some of the images are from early production vehicles.

Thanks for the input guys.
Also the pictures are very interesting. I didn’t know that the boxes on the sides were actually used to store ammunition.

In the mean time I tested both the NATO green as well as the Swedish Dark Green 326M, MRP-177 which I happened to have for my Viggen :innocent:

Though similar the MRP-177 is slightly darker and seems to be more grey-ish. This will be the choice when I start painting.

And to give you some in-progress pictures.

Oh and did I mention this thing is huge ?? :innocent:

With the M1008 next to it for size comparison

It can´t deny it´s heritage from a construction dumper. NOW I put it on my to-build-list.

How detailed is the interior? Do yo see much of the cabin?

The interior is very basic but is hardly visible through the cabin windows. And if you keep the doors closed as I did than it is so dark inside you cannot see anything in the rear.

The detail of the rest of the kit is quite good, but the articulated “neck” is in need of detailling in the form of hydraulic hoses for example.

The most puzzling thing however is that the box-art is showing details that are different than in the kit
