Hobby Easy To US Tariffs Question

Hi, I’m about to get a large order from Hobby Easy (from Hong Kong) to the US, and I just now realized that tariffs are a thing. I’m worried about the cost that tariffs will bring to the total price; so I wanted to know if any other US buyers have bought anything from HE recently, and how much they had to pay for customs/tariffs.

Thank you!

While not Hobby Easy, I recently made a purchase from Spot Model in Spain where the original total for goods and shipping was approximately $70 . Additional charges because of tariffs was $ 13 .

I have noticed at least on eBay sellers are noting in their listing if the price you’re paying is the final price or if you should expect additional fees upon delivery. Some even outright said they couldn’t ship (to the U.S.) due to the tariff situation but I think those got cleared up. So far I have not paid any tariffs on anything I’ve purchased in the last year; YMMV.

At any rate, they definitely should be able to answer that question since it is part of their business.

Tariffs vary by country of origin, so a check with the seller you plan to order from is definitely a good idea.

I emailed HobbyEasy a few weeks ago asking about this and they said that the tariff price affects shipping so HobbyEasy found a new low-cost shipper to the USA. I placed an order in the cart and checked the shipping and it’s not too bad, but I didn’t purchase anything just yet from HobbyEasy since the US tariffs were placed.

I have used Hobby Easy for a long time due to their very competitive pricing and large range of goods. Both of my recent orders over the last two months you are given the purchase prices. They then send a follow up email that includes total shipping & purchase cost. (Based on total weight or volumetric whichever is higher) this will include tariffs if applicable, which is not here in AU.

2 X 1/35 Dragon Tiger 1’s + 1 X BeaconHobby 1/350 USS Jack H. Lucas + matching complete upgrade set came to AUD $470 which included shipping. Cheers.

The so called ‘Tariffs’ have been Shut Down Three times: Twice by the Courts, and Recently by the US Senate, And even SCROTUS knows They can’t change the Law which specifically states Only Congress can Institute Tariffs, So Why are They still being Brought Up?
