How to fix this mistake on my model kit

Sooo big oops

I was putting together my model kit of Tamiya’s Panzer II Ausf. F/G

When i realized my mistake too late: i had glued the poly parts for the road wheels on the wrong end

Now it looks like this

What to do to fix this or any help?

Looking at the instructions I’d say that in theory it shouldn’t make a difference in how far the wheels will slide on their axles and since the rear of the wheels won’t really be visible anyway, I’d say just glue them on with some cyano type glue.

I take it you put part 42 in upside-down? Can they be pried off again? They act as a holder to trap the poly caps, which are impervious to glue. One thing you might try is to buy some thin plastic sheet, cut out pieces to cover the end of Part 42, cut holes just big enough for the axle to fit, then glue onto Part 42 to trap the poly caps.

Follow the instructions from @barkingdigger but you need to cut down the length/height
of part 42 otherwise the wheels will end up too far out from the side of the chassis.

The amount you need to cut off or file down depends on the thickness of the
styrene sheet you use. On source of flat styrene is the little number “flags”
or the big one with the Tamiya label/logo on the sprues.

But don’t get mad when I say I may have not built this Model kit right

i may have put part 40 misaligned and now the tank won’t fit right

Slide the top under the two front tow/ lift cleats, that you have placed the top onto.

A consequence of the motorisation gimmick.
The upper hull needs to be squeezed/bent a little so that the
“knob” at the rear can slide into the slot in the rear hull panel.
The front end must be in position first.
An alternative is to cut off the little knob at the rear and glue it all together …

Before doing any of that, which would work, I’d flood some liquid cement around the base of part 42, let is wok its way in for a moment, and attempt to pry it off. Not biblical flood, mind you - more like backed up toilet that stopped filling just as water started trickling over the edge.

So its okay to cut the hook thingies or what do you mean?

Yeah, cut the tabs off. They’re only thee to facilitate opening the kit back up to change out the batteries.

You can remove the tab at the rear end,
the hooks at the front needs to be there,
they are tow hooks on the real tank.

Also question: should my primed coated parts be let to dry for say a whole day and paint tomorrow?

Or only a few hours?

Depends on the primer and the paint you’re going to use over that, but in general you would be safer to leave it overnight to dry, rather than prime in the morning and put on the top coat in the afternoon.

I allow a full 24hrs for primer to dry. But then, “real life” has a way of getting in the way of hobby time, so some builds get days or even weeks of drying time before I get round to adding paint…
