Generally, you need to put Marvel Mystery Oil on top of the pistons, or something similar with low viscosity, if you’re going to let an engine sit like that indefinitely. Or at least let it soak on top for a long time prior to starting it. That’s probably where all that white smoke is coming from.

Yep, it sat out there for years:
Unfortunately, it’s gone now. In the early 2000s it was used as a deep sea drilling vessel before being scrapped in 2015.
