Thanks for the description! It seems that wax remains the material of choice for replicating blocks of ice.
Do you have any difficulties or issues with the resin sticking to or beading up on the wax? What about longevity? Does the water-ice depiction remain stable over time, or are there any problems with the resin separating from the wax?
What sort of depth do you use for the depictions? Is the resin “water” poured to a preferred depth or thickness? Do you generally pour the resin then add the wax, or place the wax and pour the resin around or over it? If you place the wax first, do you use any sort of adhesive to hold it in position? Does the wax float on the resin or does it sink?
This is a very interesting technique and materials combination.
No difficulties,the large pieces of wax were glued to the base
after resin was poured halfway through,the smaller pieces of wax and the submarine were glued after resin dried and the last layer of resin was poured.
Αll items were “painted” with a clean without paint resin to acquire gloss the feeling of wet and protection from yellowing
