Don’t forget to add spacers for the Blazer as they stood proud of the tanks leaving an inch or two depending on their position from the hull and turret

Thank you. My plan is to add the spacers such that they fit over little pins. That will allow me to add the armor blocks after painting in the same way I install road wheels.

This is just my opinion but I think you may be making life difficult for yourself by painting before you add the ERA blocks. I’ve done a few of these and have always mounted all the ERA blocks before painting. They’re so close to the turret sides that once mounted you can’t see under them at all, and normal overspray gets under the top and bottom of the blocks just fine. On the build I posted a pic of all the blocks are on 1 to 1.5 mm round spacers, actually slices of plastic rod stock, and after painting there’s no need for touch up.
Just my opinion, but it works for me.

Camo for the F-16 done. I ended up using AK Sand, AK Dark Earth and Tamiya Sky for the color scheme.
The Python 5 missiles are pretty secure in their resin cage.
I was a little worried about damaging them during clean up, but it went well.
Decals applied and ready to start the final finishing steps.

I’m back on mine, started the turret and fixed the headlight guards tonight. It’s a long way from done and I doubt I’ll make the finish date but at least I’m back on it…

I’ve shelved the AH-64 for the time being and reverted to the GWH 1/48 F-15I. This is where I picked it back up
I’ve actually gotten further at this point, having painted the top with AK sand. I will be using IsraDecal masks for the tail art to make sure it matches the color, as the GW decal definitely doesn’t. I’ll be trying that this weekend.

Making some headway on the GWH 1/48 F-15I:
AK paints (which frankly gave me some trouble for some reason). IsraDecal masks for Eagle heads on the tails. Needed those since the kit decals don’t match the AK sand color at all. The masks actually worked great, though a bit tricky to line up.
Next, gotta paint the bottom.

No way I’ll finish by the end date but I’m still at it. Tracks are fitted, turret is coming along and it’s starting to look like a Sho’t.
I built the tracks up in segments of 5, with one cut-down link joining each group of 5.

Looks familiar. I think I’ve used that kit a dozen times or so now, still snag them now and then for parts…
The Sho’t is in primer, doesn’t look so much like a train wreck anymore.
