SOL Model shows their new figure in two versions and in two scales.
Darn - I was hoping one of the scales would be 1/24,so I’d have a reason to resurrect my 1/24 Merkava project.
They don’t issue them with the short galil . The girls get a short 16 or if they’re lucky a short tavor
Great info, thanks Robert.
Why is it that girls don’t get Galils?
Mario
The fact is no one gets them anymore except some reserves cause they’re too heavy
The short 16 M4 and the Tavor are a lot lighter . I carried the short galil with an m203 l still miss it
What time period are the figures good for? I would say these kind of tanker helmets have not been in use for some time now…
Mario
Do they mix the crew or are they set, male/female?
I’d say late 80’s to mid 90’s as instructors as they didn’t have females tank crews till recently. There are a few tanks that are operated by full female Crews and they’re pretty darn good. I just wouldn’t want to be around them one week a month for the fact that they’ll be kind of touchy and I don’t want to become a squishy
Nice subjects and moldings. I guess I’m showing my age and ignorance, but I thought the armor crews carried Uzis as personal weapons due to their smaller size.
60’s 70’s and into the very early 80’s the Uzi was the weapon for armor and artillery troops then in 81 they went to the short galil or 16. And late 80’s some drivers of tanks and artillery got to try out the micro galil … nice but. Meh…
The Uzi went to truck drivers and remfs at the gate. And govt security groups to be used like a freaking pistol…
Thanks Robert. I learned something new today.
John
Glad I could fill in the gaps for ya.
