Hi kosprueone! The background is a multi piece resin base from Randy Cooper that I picked up a few years ago. Blade Runner is one of my favorite movies so I wanted to have a base that really shows off the different Blade Runner models that I have. It does not look like it is currently available: MODEL KITS — Randy Cooper Models & Design. It comes in 6 or 7 cream colored resin parts and I painted/weathered it to look like a typical street scene in Blade Runner. The posters on the top floor are jpgs that Randy had sent me to print and use. Here’s a photo of the base by itself:
Yes that was my conclusion. Seems to be a bronze on the upper and a metallic red or copper on the lower half below the windows. The general gloominess and everything being shot at night doesn’t help! The restored car has been painted red with Police markings not seen in the film. Fujimi based the colours and decals on that restoration.
To confuse matters even further, the interior shots of the car were filmed in a different prop. The windscreen shape and steering doesn’t match the exterior shots. Paragrafix did the best they could to get close in the etch set.
Here’s the figure set. You can have a standing or seated set.
Thanks for the link to the figures! I had no idea that these existed. I think I will order a pair of the seated figures for when I get around to building my Fujimi Spinner. These should look good inside the Spinner cockpit.
Have fun modeling!
Well I found them when I was looking at the Star Trek shuttles they do. I’m just finishing their Type-15 pod and have the ST:V Galileo to do next. It was a nice surprise for to find them. The only other set I found were resin from someone in the US but he’d stopped casting them.
Glad to have helped. They’d look good in the seats.
Wow, nice kit. And your build and paint is very well done
Another place to spend my money. Thanks @phantom_phanatic
You’re welcome.
They have a lot of cool stuff!
Yes, they do. Browsing all morning
“Operation Petticoat”
What a classic.
Glad to see you followed through on this one Harv. It will be a classic in plastic!
Does any one happen to know if this scene is from a movie? I was thinking of using this kit:
along with a Sherman…but i do not know if this would be allowed, unless I can find out what movie it is from. So any help would be appreciated.
Thank you, in advance.
Never mind…I found the original picture, looks like a Photoshop job…
I will save my idea for when we do a Dinosaur or what if group build.
Funny thing…the movie was on today and I was watching it while I posted the pictures.
I remember a scene in Sands of Iwo Jima similar to this…
No T-Rex’s involved though
Yes, a well published Time LIFE picture of 7th Infantry Division tanks on Okinawa.
Yes, I tracked down the picture, and as Carlos pointed out there were no dinosaurs on Okinawa. I will put this idea away in my memory banks for another day, besides I have enough to build.
I does feel like it would fit in a cheesy sci-fi movie.
I have to disagree with you. The Japanese did have the T-REX. But that information was censored. If word got out to the American public about this it would cause widespread PANIC. And maybe even lose the war for the U.S. and its allies. My uncle was there, I believe him.
Not the Corvette Re-entry vehicle?
Cheers,
M
