I'm a Movie Star Group Build

That will be a fun one to watch, Mark. Those Corsairs looked sharp.

Well I’ve started! Using that M41 from Combat! as my inspiration I’ve started hacking the old Tamiya kit to angle the fender ends and replace the shielded mufflers with exposed ones harvested from the spares of a T29E3 build. Filled in the hull holes too…

Nice start Tom. Love that you are paying attention to the details.

I will be doing a Topgun build.

Anyone who knows me knows that I will not be building a F-14 (well not one anyways). I am aiming a little larger

I have slowly gathered up some aftermarket to spruce up the kit. and this will likely be my main build for the year. I need to clear off some projects on my desk and then will get started, so hopefully soon.

I was hoping at least one of the ship builders would join in. Plenty of options out there.

You are certainly going to have a beast on the bench Rory. I am really looking forward to seeing this one. Your work is always amazing.

There really are, and I have a bunch of them in my stash but Big E has been sitting there for a while intimidating me and this is a good excuse to start her.

My kits for the build. I’m not a sculptor so I had to get them from a few places, and still waiting for 2 to deliver. It’s going to be a lot of painting.

Looks interesting. I’m still waiting for my go-to model kit place to re-stock the ICM Soviet Partisans set

My Nazi M41 is taking shape, thanks to a very productive evening at the model club! Holes filled, sponsons plugged, fenders rebuilt, and new mufflers added.

Neat, I managed to do some of that for my stalled-out M41. What did you do to the vision ports?

I filled them with plastic - I’ll paint them in after.

Forgot to say, I put a shim of 0.020" at the bottom to push the main chunk of filler away from the base of the opening - otherwise it wouldn’t give a “lip” with the “glass” recessed a bit. That’s why from the inside there’s a strange step in the filler!

Some food for thought for you rotary guys. :helicopter:

While a movie, Marines did do this with a CH-53D during Vietnam.

That’s still on my watch list. I remember the RAF Chinooks in the 1989 original. Rotoscoped animation of the real things I think?

Didn’t ICM just announce a 1/35th Tarhe?

What are they carrying?

@Floridabucco Giants. It’s from the recent live action version of Roald Dahl’s The BFG.
