Input and ideas - Miniart 1/35 scale L 1500 troop Carrier

Hello axis modelers,

It’s been a couple years, but I finally finished this Miniart 1/35 scale L 1500 troop Carrier. It’s not to the level that I see on this website. It still needs to be weathered.

Any ideas and or suggestions are welcome.

The first question I have is in the front of the radiator there’s this hole. Is that for a crank start up or something else? I saw a figure on eBay of a German soldier in the position of holding the crank, but want to hold off from buying it to confirm that’s what it is.

Next, I want to build a diorama with a bridge showing the vehicle parked off to the side with a mechanic along with German troops walking by and crossing the bridge. I’m also thinking about placing a Stug on the bridge.

Light snow? Brown vegetation?

Does anyone have manufacture recommendations about 1/35 scale figures in a walking position with weapons that would portray soldiers in a fall / winter gear?
