I hope I’m not late to some party and that everyone already knew about this, but I tried to access an old review and was unable to due to an apparent invalid security certificate.
I regret to inform you that the party ended some weeks ago without a resolution to the problem as of yet.

Well that’s a bummer.
I’ve written news articles for the site yesterday, so it a thing happening as of today.
Jim has been noted about this and hopefully he’ll resolve the issue ASAP.

Hi, count me as another member that can’t access Armorama. I’ve done everything that I can find on google to fix to problem on my end but nothing works. I’ve had this problem on other sites as well but I really enjoy accessing this one and will miss it till it gets fixed. Glad to see I’m not alone and Kitmaker is trying to fix the problem. I’ll keep trying in the mean time.

It should be resolved now. I did have to add an IPv6 address for the first time to one of our sites (prior to now it had always been pretty buggy). So hopefully all will function as normal. The human challenge is off atm but I can see the usage already spiking up into danger territory so it will likely be back on soon. Just a sign of the times I guess as I am seeing a lot of other mid-high traffic sites with those checks on 100% of the time as well.

Hi @staff_Jim Glad to see the problem at Armorama main site is now solved, however this post was related to the old archived site, https://archive.armorama.com/ can it be fixed as well?

Yes, the old archive site is still broken and returns an invalid SSL error.

Hi Fred,
I thought I had posted about this but as of this time all the archived sites are off-line until further notice. Most likely they will stay that way until some kind of data merge is perfected to move ALL of the existing site data/images to a new longer lasting durable platform. The software I adopted to use in 2020 is not going to work out for us long term either. Technology is just changing too rapidly to be on a PHP or server software version that is outdated, so we need to be on something more like what the forum is built on. That might be Ghost, or something else, but either way I will need considerable hours to create environments to run the old software (pre-2020) to create an export file that will be able to import data and images from the OG sites as well as creating export files from the existing sites. And by considerable that means months and months of work. I don’t have anywhere near that level of time to dedicate to that project currently so unless I retire soon or win the lottery and can hire developers it’s sort of a moot point currently.

I get the problem! Tech simply moves too fast. While waiting for a miracle, is it possible to do a simple fix that returns a “This Archive site is offline for the foreseeable” rather than the current invalid SSL message? At least it shows signs of life!
And if you win the lottery, remember all your Ktmaker friends…

I was trying to get the URL to forward to Armorama.com but so far that has been a fail.
I think the Armorama search engine is still messed up. But perhaps one of my brilliant colleagues may have what I’m looking for, which is an old tutorial on making tarps using water soluble silicone caulk(I believe a DAP product). I thought I had it saved, but obviously I was mistook.
Of course any help will be very appreciated
