I think it’s SS Models

Ted,
Yes, that’s the kit. It’s quite nice for a 3D print. As we know, it’s not as good as plastic, but it is definitely workable… and I do recommend it.

Not sure if I’ll do a build log, I’ve never actually done one on this site. Also, not sure when I will start it. Like many of us, I have quite a few things going on at once… working on a Ripsaw, Leclerc Evolution, KNDS EMBT-ADT, etc. You know how it goes… ha!

Abrams CATTB
Wiesel 1/16

I can quit anytime!

Thank you sir.

Ted,

I definitely understand… good luck with those. By the way, I did follow your build on the AGDS, very nice work.

I looked at the TAM 2 a buddy of mine picked up the T14 WW2 assault tank he told me he was a bit disappointed and told me there was no mounting points on the hill for the suspension or tracks
keep me posted i still may get the Tam 2
how are the instructions? on SS models?

Nick,

I can’t vouch for the TAM 2, but here are the pictures of the CV90-120 hull where you can see connection for wheels and tracks.

Interesting, is the hull one piece or separate top and bottom?

Looks like one piece. Top and bottom are joined while the support pillars are still in place.

The hull is one piece.

how are the instructions?

Nick-
If my experience with BananaTank is any indication, they are non-existent. I’ve two of their kits, and the piece count for both is low. The BT hulls both are one monolithic piece, and they seem to have a bit more spider web (those little sub-millimeter diameter lines from printing large monolithic pieces) than this SS model does. But nothing is complicated. This SS model seems to use a framework that minimizes or reduces the number of small interconnecting web lines.

If you look at my latest (CATTB) kit, it has hull, turret, three hatches (TC, GNR, DVR), right/left running gear (each one piece), gun rotor, barrel, skirts, and the IR/dust suppression tendrils hanging from the skirts. The hard part is trimming all the little web lines. The AGDS had a few more parts for the radar and FCS parts, and the missile boxes. I didn’t find any “where does this go” bits.

YMMV! Looking at your TTB, I’d opine you don’t much in the way of instructions.

Beware/FYI: I’ve learned to some things in model space from mainland (delete) Russia are blocked by the current round of US sanctions. Live Resin (for example) is locked out.

I was thinking. Maybe we should start a thread (Uncle Heavy/Robin please chime in) that is titled 3D prints, or something like that. Each day we see more and more 3D printed kits and many of us have questions, or would like to see pictures prior to ordering, or have some interest (just like we are doing here)… much like the Ukraine Vehicle or Israeli Vehicle threads.

This way we can all share info on those many 3D prints that are proliferating.

I, myself am working on about 5-7 kits right now… all are 3D printed. Some are quite good, while others are just OK, but they all are subjects that can’t currently be found in plastic… so I take a chance. I would have liked to have known (prior to ordering) if they were workable or not… or at least have seen pictures and opinions from some “real” modeler.

I’ve tried both ordering models already printed (like the SS-Model CV90-120), while others I have simply ordered the 3D file and have had a third-party printing service print it for me (I have no experience or machine for 3D printing)… that can get expensive, and I’ve not really been able to find a service that is both good quality and reasonably priced.

All of that information we could share on a thread of this type.

Live-Resin is from Russia, which is under sanctions from the Ukraine war, not tariffs.

There is already a whole forum for 3D Printing which can be used for new 3D items being offered.

I was thinking of one more geared to the actual 3D models and questions pertaining to each one, as opposed to machines or techniques, or other, but thank you.

Go ahead and start one,
call it 3D-printed kits or something similar.
The purpose would be to discuss the aspects of building due
to the kits/parts being 3D-printed.
Questions about the real life object, markings, paint schemes
belong with their respective forums (tanks, ships, planes et.c)
