Working on the road wheels today. Going to let them dry and add some oil leaks
Great work. The colors (colours) are envy-worthy!
FWIW- oil “leaks” generally deadline a vehicle, and require crew-level work to replace the wheel, bearing, or hub. GENERALLY, and ymmv.
Stains are often seen on well used roadwheels, but proper lube is surprisingly good at keeping them snug, unless your driver has a habit of bashing the wheels on large, fixed objects.
Thanks for the input Ted! The plan is to display it in a workshop diorama post exercise. Something like this:
I think the grease stains would add a nice touch and make sense with the vehicle in for maintenance
It’s always your subject, and have fun! Great idea for a diorama/vignette!
I’d be curious to know how wheel leaks are realistic by nationality. Like, my expectation is that early WWII and modern Germans are immaculate, late WWII Germans, Soviets and modern Russians are a mess, and Americans of any time are in between. Does that make sense?
In general, full-blown leaks are a deadline item. The rework is within crew capabilities, and might take as much as a day if the bearing is damaged or the hub needs a replacement. During ODS, we might circle-X (operation allowed) for a day or two, but damaging a hub or a spindle would be bad juju, and bad judgment. Put the tank in the UMCP (unit maintenance collection point) and fix it!
In the UK its nice and simple, check the leak, top up, push on
It’s been a while but I am almost ready to call this one done. Need to finish the display base ahead of this Sundays Herritagecon show, nothing like leaving the base to the last minute. Eventually I will get my light box set up to get better images of the build
Brilliant work👌
Looks spectacular. Good luck this weekend!
Exceptional build with great detailing and a really top finish on the paint and weathering. The turret and pack look really good on their respective stands as well. Very nice.
that’s an awesome build very well done.

@Johnnych01 @TinyDog01 thank you both.
Beautiful model. Extremely well done. Excellent presentation.
Factory floor could use some oil stains
The finish is awesome.
