Long stalled Panther build finally getting going. 1/35th Meng Ausf D

After a long stall to this build, my own fault, being over keen on early mud. But it’s back on track now and some hull details are finding homes.

Fine fit for this track joining hook, at least that’s what I think it is, holds two ends of track as you locate and drive in the track pin to join it up?

This four piece cover for the snorkel mechanism is a neat piece.

odd little cable winds around this jack block, no shackles, so it has to be some kind of jump start cable, odd, anyone cast some light on what it would be.

Anchor it to start, then wind it on when it’s set.

The hook is for towing the tank. One side goes onto the shackle on the front of the tank, the loop of the tow cable goes over the other. Not sure what the wire is for round the block (the block is to provide a firm base for the jack when jacking up the suspension to change a road wheel). It may be to wind the track back on when replacing broken track links. You attach the wire around the front sprocket, the other end to the track, put the tank in gear, brake on the other sprocket and let the engine wind the track back into position. A complete track is too heavy to be lifted back into place by the crew.

Its a cable to get the track on the sprocket.
