M103A1 & A2 from Takom | Armorama™

Chaps, I don’t think the bone-dome type is appropriate for the M103A1 in service with the 7th Army; I’ve done a little digging in preparation for crewing my yet to be built Dragon kit. The uniform is straightforward:

1950s Tk Helmet 2

The helmet depicted is I believe a locally-made type, that is of German manufacture, (for the US forces). It resembles the WW2 version, up to a point although it might be a touch “deeper” as it were. I’m hoping it might be possible to modify a Hornet Head of the WW2 type, probably by filling in the holes and perhaps raising the profile.

The Hornet Heads WW2 version:

As I say, fill the holes, add a boom mike from fusewire and we’re probably just about there.

Combat jacket would I believe, have been the M-1951 type:

In 1:35 this is practically indistinguishable from the later M-65 type.

Base figures? Well, good luck(!) Welcome to the Cold War modellers’ world of endless sanding and Milliputing. That said, the Valkyrie figures with new heads as suggested, might work:

but will involve a fair bit of expenditure.

'Hope this helps somewhere along the line.
