Holy sh!t they left out the radiator!

But with the hood closed I don’t think you will see and it seems like if you wanted to open the hood the area looks very sparse so it would be replaced with some type of aftermarket. Seems ok to me.

Hi Piotr,
Thank you for your review. Very helpful info. Mine is on its way to the US from Poland.
Just a question and a comment:

seats close to the correct ones

  • What did you mean by this? Is that a good thing?

rear bumper - it’s nice to have it, but the original one is empty inside. The set includes a full cast. Pity.

  • This is a good candidate for 3D printing. I remember some designer had it on Robberyways (now defunct a.k.a. Shapeways) so that’s another opportunity for others like myself.

Lastly, your model is coming along very nicely!

This type of seats is made by Bronco in the M1114 and Academy in the M1151 model. Broncos are more delicate, but the seats are “sloppy”. I used elements from M1151. Bumper - I can help here. There are a lot of interesting things and great quality here----->1/35 - Scale23 - For The Modellers

And… Mike's MS Productions 2023 Product Catalog.pdf - Google Drive
In the USA you have it - a friend from this Forum. I haven’t looked at the entire catalog, so I don’t know if the bumper is available, but it’s worth asking.

M1097A2 HMMWV´s have new seats, really comfortable.

They didn´t left it out, they just lay it flat. I wonder how much of the (wrong) radiator will you see after finishing the kit?

OK, so things might have been lost in translation so the ICM kit does not have the updated seats or it comes with them?
Or they have the correct seats but they look inaccurate?

I am confused.

Theoretically correct, but they don’t look good.
The lack of a radiator is not visible.

Now it’s clear. Thanks Piotr for clarifying.

This is the real part that creates a duct for the air to be pulled down through the radiator:

ICM’s part B7 (rear wall of the duct) also includes the fan which the real 1:1 part obviously doesn’t since the fan spins …
ICM parts B11 and B12 represent the things to the left and right of the fan shroud
image
ICM’s part A13 lies flat and represents most or all of the bottom of the real duct.
I presume that the real actual radiator mounts to the holes in the sloping edges
of the duct (barely visible green arrows, danggt, I should have chosen another colour)

A13 mounted on chassis, smooth side up

For comparison, here is the part that fits into the hole in the hood.

The instruction designer has bothered to show structure beneath the ribs
but A13 looks completely smooth.

Looking forward to the vehicles left hand front from somewhere by the right front wheel.
The back side of the radiator would be visible through that big hol for the fan but the designer didn’t clutter the drawing with those details.

I DO NOT know how many of all the HMMWV variants had this type of radiator-fan design. What I do presume is that ICM chose to try and make something to vaguely resemble the bottom of the fan shroud.
Maybe Piotr @Makinen could comment on the possibility to see through the grille in the hood, I suspect that it is solid.

I think that the lack of a radiator is not the biggest problem of this set. In my opinion this is not a problem at all.

The end- excitement was greater in anticipation of the model itself, as well as in construction. I tipped the dilemmas, disappointments, pros and cons in the workshop.
ICM base- I added wheels, table and radio from Bronco. Seats from Academy. Quinta 3D turn signals and seat belts. Decals are Bronco bear, Tamiya and Quinta Studio. Spars for the package and that’s it.
