Academy M163

Real life is very difficult right now so I am only shooting for adequate. Most of the detail painting is done. I plan on cleaning up the worst of the painting errors with oil paints.

I never did find a good picture of the tools. Instructions call for steel heads and wood handles. I went with black or olive drab heads and wood handles. If that is wrong, please let me know. I painted the gas cans olive drab because they look that color in the pictures. Does anyone know the correct color for the tool straps?

That will vary from an OD to an almost faded yellow over time. You have lots of leeway on that one.

They are issued in olive green cotton or olive drab nylon webbing. They will fade from sun exposure, get soaked with diesel fuel, covered in local mud and/or dust, never losing the acquired earth tones…

Thank you again for the extension but real life continues to intervene and I did not make it. I will post pictures of the completed M163 when it gets there. Congratulations to everyone who finished!
