Hello Mario!
I wanted to reach out to you regarding the amazing M163 model build series you shared.
I was a Vulcan crew member while in the 2nd ID and 24th ID. The 24th sadly does not exist any longer.
I have been looking for the interior kit you used on your build for years. One of the forum members had one laying around and sold it to me. For me this is a very personal build and something I want to take my time and do right.
I have some fairly decent modeling skills but nothing like yours and other forum members.
I am looking for suggestions and tips to make this as accurate as possible. I’m mostly interested in the painting techniques for weathering and realism. Also I have never worked with resin or photo etched metal parts.
I have amassed a pile of resin and etched kits as I am going to make two builds. One for the 2nd ID in the woodland camouflage and 24th ID in the desert schema. (Gulf War)
If you’re interested…the M163 on Wikipedia pictured is in fact my track from training at Fort Irwin in 1988. I’m in the driver’s hatch. Even cooler is Academy made a model of my track with the same track name and unit markings. I bought that one asap.
So that’s enough out of me. If you have any ideas how I can start to hone my skills to bring both of these to life I will be forever grateful.
Kindest regards, Scot
