M9 ACE 1/35 Takom

Hi all
I’ve just started this little vehicle released by Takom a few years ago.
It comes with 3 large sprues and many small ones mainly for the running gear, a lower hull, a small PE fret, a decals sheet and a B&W instructions booklet including color plates for the decoration options.
The quality is Takom standard with nice details and clean molding. The sprues gates are as large as usual which could be an issue for cutting off the very thin parts. Future will tell.
The tracks are workable with separate rubber pads.

After just an afternoon at the bench I managed to assemble the lower hull with the swing arms and some interior panels. Note that Takom give you the options for 3 different positions for the running gear: travel mode, work mode with the suspension lowered at the front and work mode with the suspension lowered.at the rear.
The tracks pins are fragile. I managed to break 3 for a 14 link run only. I had to drill out the links on one side and insert styren replacement pins. (No pics for these)

I’ll certainly apply the ROK Army MERDC like camo. The other options are plain green ROC army, tan US Army, NATO 3 tone camo US Army and 3 tone ROK Army.

I very pleasant kit. I build mine with suspension lowered in front and the apron pushing out soil.

This is my take on the M9 ACE.

It´s about 30 years old and made from scratch. The tracks are indy links for Bradley. It took me countless hours of researching and hundreds of pics of the real one.
