Made in the USSR

Chipping away on the BT-7. This is an awesome little kit by tamiya. Everything almost snaps together, could almost not use glue. The hull sides aren’t even glued on yet in these pics

This must about wraps up the lower hull and running gear

Ron, I have not be able to find any difference between the DDR-NVA BMP-1 and a Soviet one except the shade of green. Now this may just be down to the camera, film or the reproduction but some appear darker like the old 4BO olive colour while others appear brighter like the more modern Russian green.
Also note that the NVA used the original BMP-1 and later received the BMP-1P also upgrading some BMP-1’s to BMP-1P standard.

Just like to add I’m far from an expert on the NVA or the BMP-1.

You can see the brighter green in the photo below, but like I say this could be down to the processing of the photo or it’s reproduction. hopefully someone more knowledgeable can chime in.

The biggest difference is at the rear of the doors. The “loading wedges” for transport.

@V1kt0R Danka, now I need to find some loading wedges.

@V1kt0R I received this parcel in the post yesterday with loading wedges.

The BMP will also receive a strategically placed tarp just where the missing fuel filler should be

According to scalemates, there are others.

Unfortunately, I don’t know where to get them.

What part of the country do you have your boat mored , if you don’t mind me asking?
I’ve been trying to track down an old mate called Geoff Mason who possibly has a narrow boat mored near Reding.

That’s the kind of life I want. Gotta wait a couple more years before I can hang up my Sam Browne belt and call it a day. But it looks like the perfect setting for some great scale modeling.

We might need more serviceable canals .

Mainly the north west, not managed to escape to the rest of the network, on this barge yet.
Have done a few other canals with rentals over the years,

You could check with river and canal trust, who cover 80% of the licenses held, they may take your phone number and email him , if they hold his canal licence, all this, we keep your information secure, may get in the way, as they use to be helpful, before this computer data protection act, arrived. not tried recently.

One of the others is the environment agency, that cover the river Thames part of the licenses at reading.

The highlight is some off the area I’m cruising this month.

Just make sure, you have a means of stopping parts, getting to the grass gods.

A lot of sloppy decisions by management before CRT had taken over, and lack of funds from government before and since, A 200+ year old system, that is just holding together, each breach is costing over a million each time, from greedy land owners allowing access to the breach, at a heavy cost , and the repair companies high profit margin. The reservoir that slipped in 2020, is still not repaired yet, cost so far is over 6 million, CRT only receives a small proportion of money from our licenses think it’s around a million.

Thanks, maybe I’ll give them a go.
Have a good time cruising.
