Merkava antenna question

Do Merkava tanks have rod, or whip antennas, or does it depend on the radio set? And how long are the antenna - they look to be around 2 meters?

I think they use a combination of both, depending on which comm system they use.

Thanks. What about the length…2 meters?
BTW: I notice shorter rods near the front fenders (and the rear, too). Are these width indicators? I understand the Merkava is a bit wider than most tanks.

I’m pretty sure they use the same antenna mounts as modern US vehicles, solid base with a spring and a solid antenna. US antennas are in two 4’ pieces for a total of an 8’ antenna: 2.75" in 1/35.

Front fenders are for drivers line of sight.
