And it gets even better when 60 of the wheel parts have 3 clean up points on each bit = 180 clean up points … again , yay lol
Nice choice, and it looks like at least the wheel sprues are the same as in the Meng Namer kit that I’m building for the IDF77 campaign.
If you dont do modeling math, you will not notice it!
Nice choice for kit John. I’ll be tagging along.
Not as many as these Modelkasten M4 links:
Went to my club meeting and one of the guys said, “Let me put a couple together”. After 10 mins and numerous tweezer drops he just looked at me and said “You’re a lunatic!”
Link and length do me fine, even band tracks if they’re decent. The AFV Club Shot Kal tracks were really good. I’ll do indi links if they’re reasonable.
Japanese torture.
I have a set and keep wonder why…..the design and in my stash.
Some kits have wheels with multple attachment points that aren’t that critical to clean - if they’re covered with the “rubber” afterward. I usually just chop straight down on the wheels with a chisel blade X-Acto. Goes super fast.
Thats a very good point
Wheels are done less the outer rubber and the basic hull tub and the upper hull test fitted which was all good.
Started on the RH suspension…
Front unit, slightly different from the others
5 remaining units with torsion bars glued.
These are all working with nice coiled springs.
And RH on.
Overall it’s a very well detailed and working suspension set up…
Watching with interest.
The Mk II’s started having beefier front road wheels, as they took quite a beating. My guess is the added weight of the engine up front.
Looking good.
I have this kit sitting in the stash, but haven’t been able to summon up the confidence (for lack of a better word) to tackle it just yet. I am seeking inspiration from your build. No pressure.
No probs and happy to be the guinea pig for this one … this far in and no issues. It builds up well, and relatively quick. No issues with fit or gaps …
Soooooo… what you are saying is that you have not yet started assembling the tracks.
Its all about the prep
Good point.
As a friend of mine used to say, Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Production.
Or Performance
Pretty much finished up with the lower hull… The front tow bollards and belly armour are not being fitted due me having the mine roller fitted, so last main parts were the rear stowage bins …
The bins are well detailed, but I think they could of easily included mesh screens for the outward facing side… But hey ho.
So now … It’s track time …
Instructions ask for 95 links per run…
And off the sprue …
Each link has 3 mounting points to cut, then weirdly only the bottom F2 part requires a bit of clean up … Took about an hour to cut all the links from 1 sprue and do the clean up …
Will start on the assembly tomorrow…
