Would that help hide it or simply reinforce it? I dont mind damaging it a but since I need to polish the glass and I will be building an interior to the canopy.
Thanks for the advice!

Unsure , my thought is that capillary action would pull the cement into the crack & chemically melt the edges of the together.
Might be worth a try and if it doesnt work i Can always go with the plan to replace that piece with some clear plastick since its flat.
Thanks again!
Sure, good luck !
Absolutely incredible work
I need some advice again,
I have decided on the scene I want to recreate.
This is a photo of the helicpoter I am using as a reference for the paintjob. It is a different version but I dont mind as its more of an inspiration.
I want to sort of recreate this photo in 1/35. I already found the helmet but need to find a figure I can use for this. And I dont mind modifying.
If anybody has an idea of what figure I can use please let me know. I also already have the photographer.
Thank you.
Have you looked at Reedoak?
No but this looks fantastick, thank you!
While working on the Canopy and cleaning up the cockpit, nothing post-worthy I had some break time to work on some more 3D printed parts.
I have finished up the Flex Sight for the gunner and will probably print it once I have some more things to put on the build plate. I omitted the Glass, Wiress, and a small chin pad which will be scratch built due to the limitations of the 3D print.
One other thing I have tried to do for the first time is replicating tire sag!
Let me know what you guys think of them, I can still change the shape quite easily:
Front Tire:
Rear Tires:
Cheers!
While I like it, it seems like a tire low on air/flat vs normal sag, imho.
That is what I was thinking as well. I did find that in reference photos the hinds always seem to have low pressure but I think it might be too much.
I think If I flatten the bottom a bit more but take out some of the side bulging it will look right
I’d ask for a replacement depending on how long it takes to get delivered.
I am wondering if the low pressure in those photos is intentional. I see no wheel chalks which seems strange for the location/venue. I am going to ask a Czech Hind pilot about that.
Might be able to use the “flat tire” on one side to help trick the eye on the missing fuselage twist.
No replacement is coming unfortunately, the customer service in Trumpeter is kinda trash.
Their parts service is outsourced, they don’t deal with it. The company that does is not responding to any of the contact routes they provide and the part as far as I can tell has been out of stock for about six months from the last time I saw it but could be more. It could even have never been supplied.
Maybe!
Eather way some adjustment is needed.
Hello everyone,
Not much has been done but for a cool reason. I have been cast as an extra for a Netflix show and I have spent about two weeks on set so far and have had little time to sleep let alone work on my models.
BUT I have done some work lately when I had some time off. I have been working on two things.
-The other has been the cockpit structure and the update will be a bit underwhelming. The more I looked at references and compared them to the model the more I realized they were wrong. I would cut a piece off in order to modify and I just kept cutting until there is basically nothing left of this thing now.
As you can see everything is out and getting sanded. I think I have finally cut off and sanded enough to start putting things back in. I have thrown some primer on it to make sure it really is all good before I start to add pieces and sand everything smoothly.
Some of the more rough areas will be completely covered up so no worries there.
Last thing, I had to modify some of the 3D printed decals for the cockpit to make them fit as well but so far everything is going great and I am really excited about it.
Thanks!
Well guys,
I started up on the most nerve-racking part of this build. The interior of the canopy. I have to get this done first because the shape of the cockpit interior depends on the canopy modifications.
For those who have kept up on the Canopy drama you might remember that the manufacturer basically told me to get bent in terms of getting a replacement so if this gets screwed up the only way to get a replacement part would be to get a whole new kit.
You might also remember that the side part of the canopy cracked and fell off (my fault) but is an easy fix since it’s not a part that needs to be clear. BUT the worst part was the crack that formed on the front armoured glass of the gunner. WELP, it got way worse…
As you can see the base layer for the frame is put down in the Pilot section and once it is dry tomorrow I can start building up on it with all the ribs and rivets and raised pieces. Very happy with it so far and while I did get some tiny glue spots it’s nothing that I cant buff out. Most of the smudges on the canopy however are just grease.
I’m very excited to keep with this now that the harder part is over.
Cheers!
Oh man, I’ll be nervous wreck by know and sweating buckets cause there is no way I could recover from such situation.
I really have to take my time to make it work but I don’t have a choice. I remember trumpeters parts service being good but now that they have outsourced it, unless they have it in stock good luck.
Great save!
