A really nice kit that will build up into a great replica with some care and patience. Glad to see some updated progress! Thanks for sharing!

Hi everyone,

I worked a little on the rear deck, it took me awhile to do it since the frames for the PE mesh were very, very fragile, hard to cut from the sprue and clean up without breaking up…
Finishing the hull is my next goal here…
Wheels & tracks will be next… Fenders… and finally the turret.

Great job so far! I have this kit in my stash, lots of parts and the instructions look very busy.

The only real assembly issue I had when building my T-44 was the attachments of the stub-axels in the road wheels to the swing arms. I found that the pegs on the axels were short and the holes in the swing arms were very shallow the combination of which made for pretty weak road wheel attachments.

This issue was not a deal-breaker, though. Otherwise, I thought it was a really nice kit which built up into a great replica of a “missing link” between WWII Soviet armor and their post-war tanks. Kind of like the Soviet “M26” bridging the gap between the T-34-85 and the T-54.

Yup.. it’s a very busy kit.
Be aware … those frames for the PE grilles are very, very fragile.

I noticed the same problem with the T-44 kit I build a year ago.
I suppose I will get the same issue with the M version.

That’s a shame because it’s a really good kit, very detailed everywhere.
This post Cold War tank is quite nice, too bad that Tamyia or Trumpeter couldn’t pick up a subject like this.
