New Bradley Paint Job

I was joking about the two pieces of plywood in the first picture. I was thinking maybe they don’t want their boots to get muddy.

Something we learned in the Air Force Load Planner’s Course - you don’t want pieces of gravel caught in tires or track pads puncturing the floor of the aircraft.

My XM30/M30 project guy (retired SGM of Cav) had some insights.

  • the floor stowage was rearranged and packaged to give extra room (headspace) in the vehicle. He stated there head been one on post, but it has gone into deep defilade and he doesn’t know where. Any way, he thinks that is how 7” was “acquired”.
  • He commented on the color and how it was significantly different from the fleet of M2A2, and in bright light is a bit like a merge of Soviet Russian modern green and British green. He also builds exquisite models.
  • The E1 might be rara avia, and not available for a crawl and scrutinization. Yet.

It’s definitely NOT NATO green-

Well apparently, some are now painted in the brownish shade. The one is picture is from a line unit, not a one-off testing / demo vehicle. All of the latest M1’s are in the same shade.

So all Sep v.3 from 3rd ID are in that new brownish color?

These new brads showed up in the last 6 months to replace the TPE fleet which were all tan and A2s IIRC. These are woodland camouflage as you can see. The Troop of bronze green Brads are elsewhere at the moment.

The M1s are that darker paint color. Like the Brads they showed up about a month later and replaced the older TPE fleet of M1s

The Abrams look like they’re fitted with the same Trophy “A” kit that Australian SEPv3 are.

If you’re referring to the panels on the turret sides I believe they’re mounting plates for the TUSK II kit.

No, I’m referring to these:

Any chance of getting closeup shots of the tan enclosure in the bustle of the Abrams ? It looks very different than what the available kits offer.
