Not a bad effort - however, detail is just not correct behind the auto-cannon, The upper fan’s housing should be well proud of the box its mounted on, and it wouldn’t hurt to show the fan detail. Even in HO scale, a similar sized fan cage can be replicated much better, and with fan detail underneath. Railroad modelers know what I mean.

But here’s the worst part - the entire weapon system sits too high in the bed of the HMMWV. This ain’t a shake the box kit by any means.

Maybe an error on the test builders part ? It’s been known to happen.

Hi Rob, why worry? Just sand down the pedestal by 1mm. Or wait for the AM industry to kick in. When I have the kit on bench, I will check the dimensions with my Boeing references.

The height isn’t the real issue - as you said, easily fixed. I meant “worst” as in visually. But the other two things, especially the fan, need to be improved.

Don´t you trust the AM industry? Problem is they need our references……

Dang, that is the HMMWV “Avenger’s” interior? That small little green scope is the FLIR screen? How can any Soldier see anything with that small screen? Thus, I wonder how effective the Avenger is nowadays, but of course something is better than nothing.

I knew that the Avenger uses visual sighting through the large window, but I didn’t know it was that dependent on the Mark 1 eyeball.

No wonder the USMC decommissioned their Avengers for the JLTV MADIS and MRZR LADIS system with FLIR, multiple zoom optics, other sensors, and radars, and the US Army went ahead with the M-SHORAD Strykers.

The 1/35 Avenger model does look pretty cool; however, in Real Life, I’d go with the Boeing Avenger turret upgrade which the US Army didn’t adopt.

I see the kit is available at Hobby Easy. Not a bad price either.
