"Normal Times" Berlin 1935

I wish I could use Andreas exclusively but they seem to have either shrunk their offerings or maybe it’s just hard to find them now. I am crestfallen because their British uniform color is the best I have found hands down. It even looks like wool when it dries. I still love the colors I have remaining. I have found AK’s matte clear to be pretty good but still haven’t found any dead flat clear coat so far.

Right, hence my question. Andrea offer matt/flat acrylics and you seem to have nailed their use. I use ordinary artist acrylics mixed with Tamiya X-21 Flat Base, which if in correct proportions works fairly well…until the figure needs handling again, it’s annoyingly easy for the flatness to suddenly take on a dreaded sheen on the top of creases where handled, and that’s when I wish I could rely on a totally flat varnish.

I would give AK clear matte a try for sure. I also have an issue like yours with the handling of the figs. Every one always ends up with some defect caused by my ham fingers after I put all the effort into painting.

I have seen guys use gloves to good effect and maybe I should give that a go ?

Another lady. I may change the hair though. I am pretty sure this “do” turned up at wars’ end and not the 1930s.

One of the best Miniart figs I have seen. Almost zero undercutting and putty needed before paint.

Another top job with the skirt painting mate ( not a comment I’d think I would ever make here lol) those black lines are so equally made, looks super !

Nice work as always! As you suggested, is this pulled back high hair style what was called a 1940’s era “Victory roll”?

Thank you sir. I used a boxtop pic for the inspiration.

Yes that is what I also understood to be true. But I was also informed this became popular around the end of the war and my dio timeframe is around 1935 almost 10 years before the end.

I like it. I happened to have just generated this two minutes ago:

It still needs a date for January, 1987.
