NVA Eisenbahnverladekeile

Good afternoon gentlemen

I don’t know if this is the right place for this question (if not, please move it) …

Would anyone be willing and able to produce NVA “Eisenbahnverladekeile / -klötze” (“railroad loading wedges / blocks” - no idea if the translation is correct …) in 1/35 ? Some time ago there was a manufacturer in Germany who offered these in resin, (https://www.modell-art.de) but unfortunately nobody is available anymore and the store has disappeared from the homepage. These things actually belong to almost every East German tracked vehicle, but unfortunately they are not available in almost any kit.

Here are various pictures of them, including descriptions of variants, mounting etc. → - = Modell-Art = - NVA Zubehör - Eisenbahn Verlade Keile in 1/35

Best greetings from Switzerland

Hello,

interesting! I never knew, the NVA had these. I could design and print the EVK. It will take a few weeks as I´m quite busy right now but it will be done, eventually,

Best regards

On a side note, Takom T-55AM2B kit includes these parts…

MR Modellbau has a set that contains both the “pyramid” and “wedge” wheel chocks.

It´s not in the picture but they are included. I used them recently in a model build.

I would also be interested in these Lukas as I also have a T-55AM2 in stash which one I would like to finish as a vehicle of the Nationale Volksarmee. Please contact me if you really producing them. Dankeschön!

I would think that there are standardized drawings of these. That would be the most useful.

As with everything GDR NVA, there were some minor changes during production.

I think these parts were manufactured in a NVA Panzerwerkstatt. The chance that a drawing has survived is low.

Wow very interesting. One learns something new every day on this site it seems.

And yet the Stasi files remained for everyone to comb through…

Perhaps they were locally built, but given the huge numbers that were used, their almost uniform appearance and design, and the fact that brackets were welded on vehicles to hold them, there had to be standard designs. They should be like jerry cans or American pioneer tools. They could not be random lash-ups by each battalion on their own or there would be a high risk that they wouldn’t fit, or wouldn’t work.

Failing that, somebody must have measured some and made drawings by this point. (However, I have learned to my chagrin that most modelers are biologically averse to measuring things and making or using drawings, even those making 3D models.)

. . . Now that I think about it, I think this has been discussed before. Perhaps not here but on some modeling site.

A-ha!

But still no real drawings.

I’d be interested too. Could you “make” all three versions ?

I also discovered them and was disappointed when I only saw the “wedges” for wheeled vehicles … . But if there are also “pyramids” for tracked vehicles, that changes a lot, of course. I assume there are 8 wedges and 8 pyramids included ?

Never say never… :slightly_smiling_face:

I had only 4 each. SP Designs had the pyramids in one of his conversions. Sadly he is not selling them serparate.

@von_Haller,
how many “pyramids” do you need? I can contact Sergey and ask if he can release them as 4-packs?

There was a greater demand for Stasi Unterlagen than for anything NVA.

good idea. I think he would sell a lot of them …
I would certainly take some for 5 vehicles, so 20 pieces.

(BTW: we (me …) need a manufacturer for a Polish T-55AM MERIDA conversation kit :innocent:)
