Working on the doors guns that were recommended and I have met my skill limit. I’m only hoping that once painted they will simply resemble what they are supposed to be by the mount and barrel and hopefully the ammo. My congratulations and condolences to anyone who has even approximated what these are supposed to look like. Front sight! Yikes. Who needs it when you spray and pray and have limits to restrict the damage to the helicopter. That sight alone is microscopic. I would have settled for something less detailed in a heartbeat but this was all that was to be found.
I only had gel super glue but I don’t think I would have had any success with the liquid as fast as that stuff dries. Afraid to even breath on it as it is but very tempted to adjust that ammo belt a bit.
I swear that picture of them on the kit photo is either photoshopped together or the thing was put together by micro robotics.
Several days ago there was (yet another) thread about CA and adhesives. No one ever mentioned PVA but it does have its uses due to its extremely long set up time. I often use it for resin and PE. Just as strong and you have all day to reposition your work.
Moot point - the gun looks great as is.
Just adding that brass catcher was a stretch for me. I really only did it to add some surface to glue the mount to. Reskit would have you gluing one round section that’s barely 1/16 inch to that 1/8 stub of tube. I think there was a teeny PE piece you were supposed to use to help anchor it. An old slide scan shows that catcher was tossed probably from the get go, at least I never saw one.
