M , is Phoenix really that bad ? I’m making a list of places to avoid and so far I can’t leave my yard …

My mom and one of my sisters live there and I’ve visited a few times. I don’t think I’d call it Hell on Earth but the weather sure tries to cook you when you’re there.

A long time ago when I was thinking about retiring I was checking out Poenix , I had friends move there . I was house shopping on line and noticed all the neighborhoods had houses with attached two , three car garages , never saw a car on the street or in a driveway . I asked my friend about it and he said you don’t leave a car out in the mid day sun , you could blow out a window . I thought he was kidding but he said , no it doesn’t happen all the time but it does happen . He also told me you had to watch your pet dogs and try not to let them out around 10 am to 2pm , burn the hell outta their feet on asphalt or even concrete .

The grass is always greener till you move someplace else … till it eventually becomes the same old horseshat . Everywhere has its plusses and minuses . When it comes to the weather , where I live there’s two kinds coastal and inland , Getting an accurate weather report is long odds , personally I think the weathermen can’t predicte yesterdays weather , let alone todays or tomorrows …

Not much to show , I’m making a surfboard/skateboard , sales and rental shop that will be next to the hot dog stand on the boardwalk .

This building will be pretty much be intact cept for a partially blown off roof so’s ya can see all the surfboards and skateboards .

What a build! I really like new scenes being built - not a single stand alone piece! On one hand, when you’re done, you’ll be able to string together quite a story, and on the other, you can keep building until you get sick of it, and want to try something new. A win win!
Cheers

Dave, Nimrod , thanks guys !!

A little more done . waiting on some 1/8th sq basswood to frame out the iron lattice doors . I put some art deco’ish windows in , reminds me of a head shop/clothing store over on the island from back in the 60’s .

Sheer Craftsmanship at its best – if you ever went into limited edition production on this gem I’d want #1 - even though I don’t know what the finished shop will look like, or what kinda offer you couldn’t refuse :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
