There was no M60A5. The highest mark of M60 tank was the M60A3, which was not fielded by the USMC. The highest USMC mark was the M60A1 RISE/Passive, which brought it up to the same capabilities as a basic (non-Tank Thermal Sight (TTS)) M60A3.
You may be thinking of the M48A5, which was an M48 up-gunned with the same 105mm as the M60. However, the USMC did not field the M48A5 and they never had ERA.
The USMC M60 with ERA used during ODS was the M60A1 RISE/Passive.

Yes, semantics, but they were on loan from the Army. The USMC never fielded its own M60A3s.

just so you know, the Saudi’s were better equipped that the Marines. I think the only country lesser equipped were the Iraqi’s.

You are correct, not M60A5, I was thinking M60A3. I know at the time, whatever the latest M60 was, it was like the “Ontos” story, Marines had older A1s and a few A3s, the army had lots of A3s and the Abrams in numbers.
