I have now reached the detailing stage of the build. The next phase involves constructing and mounting the propeller drive at the rear of the vehicle. However, the detailing work will keep me occupied for quite some time. Here are some photos showing the start of this task.

Since I am currently focusing on detailing the model, today’s post is dedicated to that topic—just a brief update. Attaching and fabricating tow cables often presents significant challenges—I imagine many fellow modelers share this experience—especially when the cables need to be positioned in curved shapes. I used a type of cable here that is ideally suited for this purpose; I can highly recommend it to any modeler. Here are a few photos illustrating this.
These ropes are available in a wide variety of thicknesses.

Yes, BootsDMS, these ropes are absolutely top-notch. There are plenty of suppliers for tow ropes, but most of them are useless. These ropes drape beautifully over the model. That’s why I’m sharing this post—I’m curious to see your reaction if you ever use them. I’m certain you won’t have anything negative to say about them.Of course, I will also demonstrate them on the model.

Here are the tow cables attached to the model. I am now entering the final construction phase, which involves replicating the propeller drive system. I really want to bring this model to completion now. Here are the first photos of that stage.

Thanks, Nick. No photos, comments, or posts have been removed from the start until now, so you haven’t missed anything. The model build will be wrapping up soon. After that, I’m planning another similarly interesting model where you can follow and comment on the build right from the beginning.

After a long build process, I can now show you the finished 1:35 scale model of the PMM-2M. Recreating this vehicle as a model was a major challenge for me. Today, I am presenting the model in its road-march configuration—the state in which it would be driven from the barracks to river crossing points or training grounds. I will demonstrate the deployment of the pontoons in a future post.

Well done Joachim; I like to consider myself adept and well-versed in the English language, but there are insufficient superlatives to accord this model.

A superb build, your patience and determination rewarded. If you ever entered this in a Show, the only problem would be to decide whether to present it deployed, or stowed. Either way, you’d surely win First Prize
