Put a Tiger in Your Tank! - Tiger Build Thread

Michael, thank you!

The tracks & suspension proved far more hassle than anticipated.

Happy to move forward

The lower nose needed a bit of extra detail. Added a weld seam & Grandtline bolts on both sides.

Like everything else, after that was scratched, I noticed their was a photo etch part for it in the On The Mark PE set.

  :joy: - nothing goes smooth like it should for this project

Decided to leave the side fenders off. Model Kasten kindly provided a template for squarbilt placement and bolts. It is of course keyed for the Tamiya Late Tiger that’s a much newer kit.

Made a xerox to use as the working templateto kept the original intact. Cut out template and where the bolts go.

Fits the old hull very well. The old hull is apparently just a bit longer etc. Marked bolt positions with a magic marker via template.

Made a guideline with straight edge.

Area marked in black ink is scraped away so that bolt can dit down inside the zimmerit. Small curved #15 scapel blade proved invaluable.

Drop of Testor’s Liquid Cement and add bolts.

The On The Mark set has these in PE but they just looked to “PE flat” compared to the plastic Model-Kasten ones.
