Pz.I Ausf.B in North Africa

Would it be feasible to depict a Pz.Kpfw.I Ausf.B in North Africa as one of the initial
batch of tanks sent there … hence painted overall dunkelgrau, rather than desert sand?

Paul

Can’t imagine why not.

Paul,
Certainly correct to paint a pz kpfw I ausf B in Dunkelgrau in Libya 1941. All Pz Regt 5
vehicles were painted in Dunkelgrau when they first arrived in North Africa Early '41, they were gradually over-painted with various sand colours, some Italian paint used and occasionally just daubed in mud to break up the grey.
Geoff

Thanks to you both for your helpful responses.
Interestingly, I made the same enquiry elsewhere,
and was given the answer that the Pz.I Ausf.B as a
standard tank was not present in North Africa; only
the command version and Pz.Jger.
Of course, I can only rely on available references,
but I actually came across a photo of a captured Pz.I
Ausf.B, now restored and displayed in a US museum
somewhere (can’t remember which one exactly).
