Well, it was 18bravo who said at the cessation of my Land Rover at Maastricht dio, “The best dioramas show soldiers doing what soldiers really do.” So I suppose earnest young soldiers chatting up the opposite sex falls into that category(!)
They sure did! I remember the main road of the small village of Tilshead was rammed full of US kit at one time; trucks, Goats, M151s, and the Mules. It was December, wet and cold and there was mud everywhere. Mind you, the long-suffering villagers were used to it all I’m sure, being smack in the middle of Salisbury Plain.
