Questions on how to make shock waves in water

So,I’m trying to replicate the shockwaves in the photo of battleship row during the attack on Pearl Harbor and would like to know how to do them?
If, any of you guys can help please do,it would be greatly appreciated!!

I use artist gel. You apply it with a paint brush building it up as needed.

Practice a bit before doing it on the model.
