Welsh Models has released a 1:144 scale Avro 780 Andover C.Mk.I in RAF middle east livery
This doesn’t look like vac-form hell at all! Well done Welsh Models. I’m not normally an aircraft modeller but I’ve always had a hankering to amass a collection of Support Command aircraft, especially those I’ve travelled on (including the mighty Belfast - presumably available somewhere in 1/144). It probably won’t happen - existing as I do in AFV hell - but the Andover has always been a favourite of mine ever since this image graced the cover of Airfix magazine back in 1968 when I was a 14 year-old schoolboy:
I was three😞, the Andover was one of the best designs then. Use to watch them and the C130s, coming into and out of RAF Abingdon for deep servicing as a 6 year old, with blue Peter doing the parachute training there.
