I look for 90mm rounds for an M48A2 builds. Since I don´t want to spend a fortune on EBAY, I also look for drawings of the rounds to make one or two on may lathe, maybe using a 88mm Flak round as a base. Any suggestions?
The two are similar in size and shape, but the 90mm has a slightly different shape in the neck area
This set from AFV Club doesn’t interest you?
Thanks, I see If I can find it here. I assume the rounds are the same for M26/M46/M477M48 tanks?
At least thru the M46. The M47 & M48 had a different, improved, more powerful main gun. Sort of like the Tiger to the King Tiger.
Verlinden IIRC used to do a set of modern 90mm ammo. May still be available on Ebay. For an M48A2, especially in the late ‘50s or into the ‘60s, would definitely be carrying HEAT rounds, since those would be more effective vs T-54/55s.
Damon.
Don’t know if this is helpfull but just in case :
HTH,
Sam.
If 3D printing is an option for you, there is a US 90mm ammo file there as well.
This link has US Ordnance drawing books as pdf files. The drawings you need will be in them.
Good Luck!
