The first problem with the RFM kit is the road wheels.
This kit reproduces the version made in March 1945,
but the wheels are early wheels from before the fall of 1944.
Also, the shape of the bolt and the shape of the sheet metal tab
that holds the bolt together are also smaller and slightly different.
So I developed a new road wheel using 3D modeling
and printing that corrected all the problems.
also,
There is a gap between the Tiger 2 road wheel body and the center disc.
This gap was also made similar to the real thing.
At least it is better than the rfm wheel in that it reproduces the even inner bolt placement
of the late type, and the lettering on the hub part.
Nice.
However, I think they made one mistake.
The placement between the inner and outer bolts seems different from the real thing.
With your incredible attention to detail and accuracy, this is going to be a phenomenal build. I’ll be following with interest! Let’s see how many parts you wind up replacing!
