Sounds like good news. They should get it more correct than the Panda kit.

They seem to have gotten their markings from this photo:

Are they just basing their kit on internet images? Who knows?

Hmmm… It seems like there’s a competitor now.

Zimi Model is the reboxed/renamed Panda Hobby kit.

AI probably gave them the Internet images.

What’s the source of your information?

I hope that once RFM releases the Paladin, they can also make the FAASV as well.

Except it would be called a CAT.

Zimi Models is typically reboxed Panda/Kitty Hawk molds. Not saying this couldn’t be a new kit (they have a few) and scalemates

has been wrong before but….:face_with_monocle:

The M992 FAASV has been on my long-awaited wish list.

Who knows? Maybe someday everyone will get their wish - an M992A2 FAASV, and an M992A3 CAT.

Ok stupid question what makes them different enough to get a different name.

Two completely different vehicles. The M992A1 and M992A2 are based on the older M109 series hulls. The M109A7 uses a completely different hull, and the M992A3 is based on that.
I’m baffled myself how the A3 should keep the M992 designation. It’s a completely different vehicle, although I did read where they are dismantling the older versions and putting some of the guts into the A3s. Probably the storage and conveyer belts.
I’m equally baffled as to how the M109A7 kept the M109 designation. When they changed the turret for the A6 I could sort of see it. Same hull, and gun, different turret.
But with the M109A7 the turret and the hull have been replaced. In my mind they should have started with a whole new designation.
As for the new CAT (Carrier, Ammunition, Tracked) name, probably easier to say. Like the JAB.
