RFM M1A2 SEP V2 build

Ok M1 nerds :grin::grin:

Ref the A frame tow bars when it’s mounted onto the front…

Is the loose bar supposed to be on the top or bottom and would it be tied off somehow to the light guard ??

Looks like you can support it with some sort of heavy duty velcro or something similar.

Also, while I remember … does anyone know of any decal sheets that have 11ACR wagons on them ? Echelon or similar ? I will print my own if needed but just wondered if there are any others out there ??

What would be the timeframe of the decals you are looking for?

I think you are looking for this Echelon D356207

Just for Greg as he is always on my case … tracks are on as are the side plates.

Tape is just applied to give the skirts a hand as they set in place.

Oil hubs and the initial dust build up on the tracks.

Just double checked the destructions and was happy to discover that the A2 is pretty much complete now.
The remaining parts (about 15 small parts) which are in the paint bowl will go on shortly or be pre painted then attached and there are 8 clear parts to paint then attach.

I quite like the CROWs in green as it gives it a bit of visual variation…

Needs a final coat of CARC Tan which I will tomorrow then do the brown cam then begin the detail painting (which there is a lot of) and detailing like the optics which needs the anti laser coating doing.

Tow pintle?

Dont worry James, thats one of the 15 smaller parts to fit. I try and leave off certain things until near the end to avoid knocking them when I have to handle the kit :+1:

Does anyone have anymore images of these OPFOR schemes ?

If not, I can work out the scheme from these I think … just not sure if it goes up over the turret or stops at thre upper edge.

I don’t have any more pics, but did serve with them at the NTC, Ft Irwin, CA. The camo does wrap across the top of the turret.

Thanks Gino. Just what I needed… I can work out rough top patterns from these images :+1:

Sorry, gotcha! I was a bit over caffeinated yesterday and a little jumpy on the comments

It looks like the NATO three tone pattern without the brown :man_shrugging:t2:

The OPFOR wagons are CARC tan with a brown over painted … I ordered several AK RC browns to try and match it, and one of the ones I got looks a pretty good equal… Will get the actual number of it later and post here.

Final coat of Tan is now on…

And this is the Brown AK paint I will use.

There is also a lot of detail painting which will be needed…

The brown looks like it will be perfect.

I did the older M1A1 version of OPFOR “Krasnovian K1” tank a while ago (wow, it’s been about 20 years!!) as a farewell gift for one of the 11ACR Squadron commanders.
