As I can’t add to the lively discussion of fluid dynamics, I won’t, and will instead say great model building Jerry - the idea and execution!

Brilliant Work, Jerry!
@Diomartin-thanks for the very kinds words sir.
@ Mech-thanks buddy
@Oliver-thanks man I appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed it sir.
@Stickframe-thanks pal for your much appreciated continuing support. KInda reminds me from some comments about ballistics in the old days here when the only time guys typed something was to enter a discussion from someone else. Otherwise they ignore your overall modeling. I mean I scratchbuilt a Goatley boat and heavily and carefully modified all the figs to cram in there, made a base in what was for me a difficult arena ( water ) the whole thing taking a good long chunk of my existence and all that gets sorta tossed by some ?? But I do appreciate the very generous comments by most here. Some advancing to the quite eloquent stage. Looking forward to what you decide to do next brother. Thanks again.
@ Zonarch-thanks buddy!
Jerry,
Nobody doubts your talents; the comments should, should have assured you of that. Not every phase of your project can be acknowledged, even by those who might wish to. We all look forward to your modelling plans and see them come to fruition, but we probably take it for granted that you build as you do.
Remember, virtue has its own reward, and sometimes it might be better to present as hiding your light under a bushel.
Keep at it; what’s next?
Brian
What short memories we have. I liked the very first post.
And then there was this:
With my limited vocabulary ‘fantastic’ is about as eloquent as I can get.
The really odd thing is you even thanked me for the comment. ![]()
I’m not sure what else you want - a VIP pass to Sapphire New York and a bucket of KFC?
But since the ballistics lesson seems to have annoyed you, consider this:
Exactly. Rather than call you out on something I have a bit of knowledge about, I said nothing. And would have remained silent on it. Until someone else brought it up. One of the things I have learned over the years is to sometimes take such an opportunity to tactfully point something out, rather than be an alletwisser, as many on here are happy to be.
In fact, the reason I was revisiting the post was to heap loads of praise on it - until I got sidetracked by that incorrect statement which I felt needed to be corrected. While at the same time allowing you to ![]()
Then I ran out or time that day. Gym, Chihuahua, stripper, whatever.
I fully intended to revisit the thread on my own time, when I noticed a discrepancy in the uniforms - all of them. But being a student of US Airborne forces (my own lineage goes back not the 504th but to the 502nd PIR) I decided to get my ducks in a row before I commented on it. It turns out I was right - I just hadn’t taken the time to post my results.
Be happy you got the comments that you did, including from me.
By the way, I have three somewhat long running threads this year, and several last year. Your comments - good, bad, or indiffernt - have been conspicuous in their absence. And I hadn’t even noticed until I looked. Thankfully I’m not on here for likes.
woah nelly. I wasn’t referring to you. I just didn’t want to name names and was making a point to a guy I knew on here for a very long time. This kind of thing would happen all the time back then with discussions on even what type of stones and building techniques were used in certain areas in Belgium.. It could go on for a whole page. My absence on your threads was prolly because I was not on this forum for quite a while and so there are none of my comments on anyones’ threads. As far as appreciating the comments I am one of the very very few on FB or on here that will take the time to answer every single one even it was only one word. You can check. Even after that I will also usually give blanket thanks for the general congregation.
Now that we have that turbulent river hopefully smoothed out I await your comments about the incorrect uniforms on my scale turbulent waterway ? Or in other words I am sorry for me being taken the wrong way and hope to continue a discussion because I value comments much more than"likes" which I don’t think you can get on this platform. Or can you ? I dunno.
J
Sorry to ruffle your feathers
OK thanks mate. Point taken.
I shall endeavor to persevere.
Looks like I am back on the horses now.
J
What a fantastic little scene man!!! Love the E tool and rifle as paddles. ANYTHING to get across the water as fast as possible! Well executed, well built, and well done!
Cheers!

I may have missed it in the comments on the build, but what did you use for the hair on the poor bloke who took a round?
Thank you sir for the kind comments. I have been doing the hair thing for decades now. It is from a cotton ear swab.
J
I’d love to see the process you use for that. I feel like that would have solved some of the issues with a few unhelmeted figures from my last diorama, and their oh so plastic hair haha.
J
I’m gonna have to remember the technique for some bareheaded figures that I have in progress. Thanks for the idea!
I begin with epoxy putty for the basic hair shape and finish with cotton.
Nice work Jerry.
Thanks Dan,
J
Love this idea and execution. Great job.
Thank you sir,
J
Awesome work Jerry, I cant wait to see it finished. Best Regards…Dale
