Ryefield Models M1150 ABV build - aka "Making the best out of a bad eBay purchase"

Darn it! I’ll fix it. No big deal. Sadly, you’re right, the part is already in there. The instructions say the support bar goes bump up and not bump down.

RFM needs to fix that.

Yes, they do.

It won’t be seen, but, won’t it touch the exact area it’s supposed to, no matter what the position?

It will and yes, the skirts will cover everything up.

I have a bad habit of look up under skirts! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: :innocent:

I did some work on the smoke launchers - sadly, there are brackets that are specific to the M1150 that are not present on the M1A1…

I have the launchers themselves built, but the above parts are unique and it will be a bit of extra work. I’ll try and figure something out.

ITMT; I’m almost done with the lower hull. Just need to focus not on the mounting brackets for the dozer blade, then the dozer blade itself.

Just some quick work on the turret. Mainly building the cupola.

And the front bracket on the hull.

I’m interested to see how the blade attaches to the ABV, does it use the attachment points for the plow or the usual Abrams lifting/tie down brackets, never gave it any thought till now

this is the dozer blade kit mad by Perfect Scale Modellbau in Germany.

Designed for the RFM kit.

Seems to use the same attachment system as the mine plow.

Oooh. Now 3D printed. Isn’t this the Pearson system?

I went looking to see if I had another PSM resin dozer blade kit in my Abrams spares.

Didn’t have one but I found this- I think it came with the dreadful Trumpeter Abrams 3 in 1 kit, along with the Panther mine roller thing.

And I found one of these, too.

Correction: Trumpeter 5 in 1

That looks more like a Trumpeter Stryker blade, maybe. The Trumpeter 5-in-1 Abrams kit has an M1 Mine Roller and an M1 Mine Plow, not a dozer blade.

Dunno where it came from Gino.

I’ve never built any Strykers, but your right- it’s not included in the 5 n’ 1 kit, I just looked.

Random tank dozer blade fact…

Did you know that once built; the RFM Dozer Blade fits not only Tamiya, but also the Meng Abrams kits?

Well? Now you know.
