OK, i don’t know how i missed tge start of this, I’m putting it down to old age and the fumes from the paint and glue taking their toll (i guess those warning labels aren’t just there for decoration lol)
any here is my entry, a Star Wars Legion DSD-1 Dwarf Spider Droid. this wad featured in “Attack of the Clones”, “Revenge of the Sith” and the “Clone Wars” series.
i don’t have any pictures but the model and base have been given a matt white primer coat and the droid has been given a coat of aluminium as the base metallic coat.
WOW!..I am full of admiration for all of the builds in this campaign, your creativity, imagination and skill to render such amazing builds is outstanding…I’ll have to dip in here more often…congrats to everyone, .
I like very much the kit on the first photo, but the wash looks strange to me on the sphere part top. Full of spots? Or is it the photo only?
The legs (undercarriage?) and the weapon look great with the wash, though.
A very interesting subject. I am sure you will have great result with it soon!
I blackened the recessed panel lines with Vallejo Black Ink and a black Gundam Ultra Fine marker.
The figure 's black pouches and straps are drybrushed using MIG drybrushing Light Gray paint.
I don’t know if I’ll mount it on a base (not the one in the photo. That pedestal is just used to prop up the figure for photos since it doesn’t stand on its own).
I probably need to do some touching up here and there, but unless I place this figure on a base, these might be the final photos.
(Note: The Green Stuff World Maxx Darth Paint was used for the blackest black you see on the guns).
I realized with the photos that I still could do some touch ups, washes, and weathering to the figure so I suppose I am too hasty to finish. The eyes can use some defining and she’s missing an eyebrow.
I decided not to use Tamiya Black Enamel Panel Liner because there are reviews that it will attack and eat the base paint, hence the tedious process of first using Vallejo Black Ink and then Ultra Fine Black Gundam markers.
I didn’t wash it or add any weathering (yet).
I “jumped the gun” in calling it finished when there really is more that I can do after seeing how it looks in photos.
