Hello everyone…I will be joining with this model of the Type 99 Cosmo Falcon from Space Battleship Yamato 2199 in 1/72 scale from Bandai.
Like other Bandai kits it comes molded in color, but I will be painting it…I am looking forward to seeing everyone’s build.

Just had a better look at my entry. Apparently I tried some of Citadel’s paints/washes previously… It looks horrible!
I’ll also throw in an extra figure… maybe 2.

The Mech in the top photo is a 1:56th scale Knight, rather than an “Epic” scale (whatever that may be this week) Titan, is it not?

Cheers,

M

It is. About 25-30cm high, so I am combining it, using it as a battledroid in 1/24 scale.

I went through my files and it turns out I started this in… 2018!! So a lot older then I thought!

Forgot to post the start pics. My first entry will be a Bronze Dragon Wrymling & treasure chest. The figures from D&D Nolzur’s Marvelous Miniatures come pre-primed but I primed again with AK black primer. I started dry brushing with AK 3rd Generation Medium Green then Light Green. I’m not entirely pleased so I will try again with more Lt Green before moving on to the bronze paint.

This is my starting picture for Air Warden, a conjectural, near future, air defense killbot.

All components of the air defense system reside in a turret designed to mate with a common, two meter turret ring. The carrier for the turret can be a tracked, wheeled, or walking vehicle, all equipped with the exact same, two meter turret ring and 1.5 meter turret basket depression. The chassis houses the primary control computer for the killbot. The turret contains a secondary control computer that performs all air defense functions at the command of the primary computer.

This very rough sketch shows all major components of the planned machine including two possible carriers. It very much resembles tracked air defense systems developed during the 1970s and 1980s with directed energy weapons in place of rotary cannons. The machine will include active and passive detectors as well as a secondary counter drone defense system.

Why does a machine designed to shoot down aircraft need a separate system to shoot down drones? The smaller, counter drone system enables the machine to engage two targets at once from opposite sides as a defense against drone swarms. A platoon of these machines, networked together, can very quickly clear a very large battle space of aerial threats.

All necessary technology required to build a machine such as the one just described currently exists. Some problems remain to be solved, but the fundamental technology is sound. In essence, this is a proposal for an experimental military drone, not a work of alternate history or science fiction. However, I believe it resides within the mandate of this campaign.

The long wheeled thing at the bottom of the drawing is a drone mine clearing worm. While an interesting idea, it is probably not feasible and not part of this project.

As a reminder, in Damraska Speak, a killbot is a fully automated, mobile, weapon carrying combat machine authorized to make human lethal engagement decisions on the battlefield. They are very scary. As a species, we should not build them. It is an absolute certainty we will build them in great quantities.

Sounds really cool…quite an imagination you have there.

Got the construction finished, except for the pilot and canopy…now on to a satin finish…along with decals and very lite weathering…mainly panel lineing…

I’m going to enter my 1/24 Wonder Craft Tokyo “Salamander Frame” resin mech. It’s long OOP and I believe Wonder Craft Tokyo no longer exists, or at least they don’t sell and restock this kit. It’s a small and very expensive resin mech for the size, and this kit will be my first resin mech build.

I don’t intend to start building right away. I’m just posting the start photo to show what I’ve decided to build.

Below is my start photo.

Photos below are from HobbyLink Japan.

I have some progress to report: I repainted the Knight Warden in a dashy dark green and metal. I tried painted all the small studs in copper and drybrushed some parts in bronze.
Ammo in bronze, hoses in rubber and metal.
Then a liberal, dark wash all over it.

Can you guess where I am going with this?
