Scratchbuilding glass in a BM-21 Grad

A little while ago, I picked up the old ICM 1/35 kit of the BM-21 Grad. These are used by Ecuador, & my intent is to do an Ecuadorian version. BTW I got it for dirt cheap, sealed. The problem is that it did not come with ANY wheels (that’s easy enough to sort out), but more importantly, the sprue for the clear parts was also missing. That’s much more challenging. Anyone have some suggestions on how I can resolve this issue? I can’t imagine scratchbuilding with clear sheet plastic will give great results…

Not sure they would fit, but it is a start. The Trumpeter clear parts are available on eBay.

Actually, you can get better results than with the kit parts, which probably scale out to about an inch in thickness.. You won’t know until you try. If it doesn’t work out, you’re out what, a few pennies?
