The definition of “Fusty Luggs” according to the “Lexicon Balatronicum” of 1785, a work possibly being that era’s equivalent of “Roger’s Profanisaurus”…
The Vulgate is the Latin Bible, translated from the Hebrew and Greek into what at the time was the “vulgar” (common) language of the later 4th Century A.D., and in use by the Catholic Church ever since, with major revisions in 1592 and 1979 (“Nova Vulgata”).
Did you know that according to Hebrew lore, her original name was Lilith, and she was Adams first wife. ( Before Eve) But rebelled against God and Adam, becoming the evil creature she is now. I read that in a book about Demons and fallen angels.
The license on Cults clearly forbids commercial use, so the Chinese knock-offs are robbing the artist. He sells files only for private use - I checked the page and the license conditions.
Interesting…but Carlose (the “Creator”) does not offer a file in either 1/35, or 1/24 scales. File couldn’t have come from Patreon.
To be a Devil’s Advocate, the issue of pirate copies is making identical copies that deprive the original creator of any profits, but the copies from Aliexpress are a different scale not available from the original creator, therefore not depriving him of any sales.
Usually, these sculptors let people print and pass around the products.
The license condition is usually there as a clause against the illegitimate sellers.
@Biggles50 You can re-scale the the the models in Windows build in tools like Windows’ 3Dbuilders. All of these models are re-scaled by me to 1/32. I even made some normal human figures as size reference. The male figure for example, they are the same model, but one is 1m80 at 1/32 the other is 2m10 at 1/32.
I can make a easy tutorial for you if you want to.
I don’t need a tutorial for rescaling as I don’t have a printer, or do any designing, or printing, nor have any wish to do so.
I was merely pointing out my interpretation of copyright laws.
You might want to check out the text of the Cults license for that sculpt before making risky statements! The license does not allow for commercial selling of the prints - commercial use is specifically forbidden. If the Chinese seller wants to stay within the law they need to come to an arrangement with the sculptor - assuming the sculptor is willing. Selling prints is a far cry from “passing around the products between friends”. Sadly most of our copyright laws are unenforceable in China…
Carlose3D, aka CA3D, has a commercial perk on their Patreon, which people can subscribe to do sell. That author clause overrides Cults3D. Nevertheless, Cults3D will usually put that disclaimer on by default to protect its users and itself from legal issue. CA3D put it on Cults3D because it is a retailer for those who don’t wish to subscribe in long term, as Patreon doesn’t have a storefront.
The link I posted to an Esty store above is for one of those more legit. They wrote the product name as is, they subscribed, credited the sculptor and even link to sculptor.
AliExpress or shady stores use different names to avoid detection, doesn’t include author or name, and claim that it is theirs.
P/S: The 1/12 version is 25$, if you asking that retailer to scale down to 1/35, it might go down to 10$, which is not much more expensive than illegitimate figures.
PPS: You know what? I will ask the guy and check his quote if you don’t want to do it. This is not the 1st time you are unwilling to support the authors anyway.
