Colour modulation is done. I applied faded OD and then lightened it up before over spraying a super think layer of the original OD No.9 to unify the finish. Next is the dozer blade painting then onto decals and weathering

Some detail painting and Dozer painting started. Not sure I’m totally happy with the dozer

Finally got stared on the Tamiya M36.

I used Heavy Hobby’s 3d printed mounting bosses, which saves a ton of clean up. Also used the two central bosses with grab handle from the M10 Mk IIc Achilles kit, because most of the pictures of the M36 show this feature. And the Achilles I modelled did not.

Also put some paint and washes on the floorplate.

Today I had some time to put in some more work on the floor plate. I added several shades of grime and added a metallic sheen to the treadplate.

Building the M36 is pretty much done. It’s become a real Frankentank (destroyer), with most of the model being the Tamiya kit (obviously), extra details from T-Rex and a small part from the Tamiya M10 IIc Achilles (the mounting bosses with grab handle on the glacis plate). I added 3d printed tool straps, but can’t remember who made them, I just know I have a lot of them. I replaced the wheels with Asuka wheels, because the Tamiya wheels lack the grease nipples. I replaced some of the solid handles with wire and left the ones that will be covered by stowage and other gear. The interior of the hull and turret are already painted.

The M36 has been base coated. The OD looks VERY light, but that’s an effect of the glossiness and the lights on my workbench.

Also started work on two dudes to crew the M36 with.

Did all the projects for this campaign just stall or something?

Anyway, I declare my contributions to this campaign done. Here they are in no particular order:

Beautiful builds, Jay!

In my case, yes. This is a good reminder to push through. I think I only need three parts before paint.

My ancient Nitto Sherman may not make it folks; I’ve a spot of medical bother to address and that may well get in the way of completion.

We’ll see!
