Looking nice, @Armorsmith Love the way the .50 Cal is stored on the turret. I have not seen that before.
Looking forward to see more. ![]()

Calling this Firefly done! It was a very enjoyable build, typical Tasca (now Asuka) fit and quality. I added a Google Gemini “period” picture just for fun ![]()
Okay back from army summer camp, time to get to work on the grizzly.
First order of business was adding the grizzly grove to the rear hull and drilling out the engine starter hole.
Next order of business assemble the hull and add cast texture and foundry marks
For completeness’ sake: engine manual cranking hole
The engine was started electrically, but needed to be cranked over by hand a couple of full rotations before doing that, to prevent damage caused by fluids that may have drained into the bottom cylinders.
A couple? I’ve heard figures of 50 revolutions! Maybe it was combined with morning warm-up PE?..
A couple of revolutions of the engine
The crank handle had, IIRC, something like a 12:1 reduction ratio.
That makes sense! But it’s still somewhere between a workout and a punishment detail for the guy on the crank…
Hull is assembled and the Panzer Art differential was fitted with quite a bit of fitting. So much for being designed for the asuka shermans
Wait, didn’t that kit come with a three-piece nose?
Yeah! you are right.
@Jakko it did, i just didn’t realize it when I had bought the kit originally. The Panzer Art Kit fits the Fruil CDP drive wheels better so i stuck with it
Painting and weathering complete. Some mud and splashes. Figure is from Legend and fits perfectly once you install something for his feet to rest on. Still experimenting with speed paint. Happy with the flesh tones. Jacket not so much. Still need to flat coat the figure the add clear gloss to his goggles. Currently working on stowage. Thanks for looking
Finished, could not complete this build last time. Am I posting this correctly? This thread is confusing me.my Tamiya Korean war version
Can I submit WIP kits for the campaign?
work in progress? WIP?
Unfinished M4A1 from 2021/22
Not sure, I don’t remember seeing anything about. I’m building a Dragon M4A2 that’s roughly 1/3 done, unless I hear otherwise.
