It is not really news, as these figures are available for some time now, but nevertheless... Live Resin offers a number of 1/35 scale figures depicting Soviet artillery crew and accessories.
Wow. Really phenomenal. There’s so much life here.
It transports me to a Soviet 203mm piece just prior to 3:00am April 16th 1945 at the Kustrin Bridgehead. Preparing for the unprecedented bombardment of German positions, kicking off the assault on Berlin. 30 minutes of continuous fire with 270 arty pieces per every mile of front.
I’m currently finishing Antony Beevor’s ‘Berlin: The Downfall 1945’. Great book, IMO.
Kustrin - today’s Kostrzyn nad Odrą is a wicked place. I’ve been there a few years ago. For one you have the old town just a few hundred meters from the border crossing to germany where you have the central market typical of small German towns with all building reduced in height to about half a meter - all bombed out and left like this since then. You can take a walk ad look at what has been left - cellars, tiles on the floor and that’s all… Then just a few clicks away there is Fort Sarbinowo - a gigantic stronghold which essentially is a hill pierced by multiple tunnels surrounded by a gigantic trench finished in brick. Too bad Soviets have devastated it by blowing EOD stuff there but again mere ruins of it make you wonder how magnificent it musta been back then… So if you happen to be travelling from Berlin to Warsaw or vice versa it might be worth a stop…
Live Resin doesn’t add new info to their website for quite a while now. Most of the sales to the West are suspended as well… they are concentrating on the domestic market.
As noted, all the figures and accessories for the B-4 are shown on Hobby Easy’s website. They just received stock of them (after much delay) about 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately, many of them are already out of stock again/on back order. I just received my order this week, after pre-ordering them in August last year when they were first announced.
